Emerald Class Cinema Trip

Date: Thursday 15th November 2022.

First we walked 20 minutes to the Vue Cinema.  On the way there was a fallen tree!  When we arrived, Miss Bassett called the register to make sure every child was there.  We sat on our seats and we made them recline.  We watched Minions the Rise of Gru and it was very funny.  Miss Bassett was very proud of our behaviour.

Thank you Caroline and Chris (Fraser’s mum and Kit’s dad) for helping us.  We had a great morning.

Remembrance Day
Diamond Class have written some very thoughtful acrostic poems related to Remembrance Day which they shared with the school during Collective Worship to mark the 11th day of the 11th month.

St David's Ben Bradshaw MP Visit

“This week Ben Bradshaw came to our school for Parliament week.  He is the MP for Exeter and has been for 25 years!  When he came in, he gave an assembly on Parliament and after had a short meeting with the School Council where they asked him a few questions, finding out that Ben used to be a Liberal Democrat!  We hope Ben comes again!”

Organ workshop

Twelve children from Diamond Class took part in an organ workshop at St Michael's Church. During the session children were able to make their own organ pipe to take home and took part in building a fully working organ! The children made bellows, built a keyboard, and sorted and ordered the pipes before working together to assemble the mini organ. When finished children were able to have a go at playing both the constructed organ and the actual organ in the church. The session ended with a demonstration of different sounds made by the organ, All the children were completely engaged and thoroughly enjoyed the morning.

Thank you to Mr Perry for inviting us.
